Cycles

Cycles are time-bound creative production periods that help organize and manage your creative output workflow. Each cycle represents a sprint or production window with defined start and end dates.

Managing Cycles

Creating a Cycle

  1. Click the “Create Cycle” button on the Cycles page
  2. Select a date range using the calendar picker
    • The start date cannot be before the previous cycle’s end date
    • You must select both a start date and an end date
  3. Click “Create” to initialize the new cycle

Updating a Cycle

Click on any cycle to open its detail page. From the Cycle Notes card at the top, you can edit:

  • Start Date: When the cycle begins
  • Deadline: Target completion date
  • Status: Change between In Progress and Completed
    • Setting to “In Progress” makes this the current active cycle
    • Setting to “Completed” marks the cycle as finished and sets the end date
  • Notes: Free-form text for cycle planning and documentation

Note

Upcoming status is automatically determined based on dates and cannot be manually set.

Deleting a Cycle

Either:

  • Open the cycle and click delete on the top right corner
  • Or click the delete button next to the cycle in the list.

Caution

Deleting a cycle permanently removes all associated concepts and batches. This action cannot be undone.

Working Within a Cycle

Within a cycle, the creative strategist can:

  • Create new concepts using the data from the Positioning section.
  • Create iteration batches from concepts created in a previous cycle.
  • Monitor and manage the creatives that will be produced and the team working on the cycle.

Tip

Before creating any concepts or batches, we strongly recommend that you check the Analytics section and form a strategy on which messaging and formats have the highest probability of success.

Creating Concepts

To create a concept, click the “Create” button on the Cycle page.

After that you will be prompted to select whether to create a new concept or an iteration batch. Select “New Concept” to create a new concept.

The concept creation process is detailed in the Concepts section.

Creating Iteration Batches

To create a batch:

  1. Click the “Create” button on the Cycle page.

  2. Select “Iteration Batch” to create a new batch.

  1. Select which batch you want to iterate on from the list and press “Next”. You can also search for a batch by name.

  1. Then you can select the type of iteration you want and configure the batch (Batch configuration is detailed in the Batches section). The 2 types of batch iterations are:
  • Messaging Iteration: Duplicate just the messaging from the original batch.
  • Format Iteration: Duplicate the format and messaging from the original batch.
  1. Click “Create” to create the batch.

Monitoring and Managing Cycle

The cycle page consists of 2 main views:

  • The Details View: Where the strategist can see new concepts and iteration batches that will be produced in the cycle. Useful for planning and adjusting strategy.
  • The Kanban View: Where the team can see the batches that are currently being worked on. Useful for tracking progress and managing the workflow.

You can switch between the views by selecting the corresponding tab at the top of the page.

Details View

In the details view, the strategist is able to:

  • See concepts, their positioning, number of batches and their creator.
  • See iteration batches (meaning batches whose concept was created in a previous cycle), their status and team members assigned to them.
  • Filter by which creative strategist created the concept or batch.
  • Change the start date or deadline of the cycle.
  • Change the status of the cycle (In Progress or Completed).

Important

Always make sure to mark cycles as completed before creating new ones.

Kanban View

In the kanban view, the strategist is able to:

  • See all batches grouped by their status in a kanban board.
  • Move batches between the statuses by dragging and dropping them.
  • See the team members assigned to each batch.
  • Filter based on the team members assigned to each batch.

Batch statuses are explained in the Batches section.
