Understanding the Static Brief Page
When you open a Batch, you will see the Static Brief.
It’s the guide for the design of your static.
In this section, let’s focus on understanding everything on this page so you can move through the process smoothly!
The Image Brief
This is your actual work area. It tells you exactly what to build within the image.
It’s made of:
Text Elements
These are the text layers you must add to the design.
- Copy: The actual words you must type.
- Type: What kind of text is it? (examples: Headline, Button, Subhead).
- Location: Where to place it (examples: Top, Bottom, Center).
- Style: How it should look (examples: Bold, Italic, Text Color).
- Capitalization: Strict instruction on casing (examples: Sentence case vs. UPPER CASE).
Objects
These are the specific visual items you need to create or find.
- Name: Description of what the object is (example: “Glowing body” “Product bottle”).
- Location: Where it goes in the composition.
- Depth: Layer ordering (which objects are in front/back from others).
Environment
It describes the background setting (e.g., “Kitchen counter,” “Abstract gradient,” “Solid Blue”).
Focal Point
This is the object (or objects) of the image that is capturing the most attention.
- It describes the Primary Visual Anchor: the single element the viewer’s eye must see first.
- Everything else in your design should support this element, not distract from it.
The Variations
At the top left, you will see tabs labeled Main, Variation 1, Variation 2, etc.
- If there are multiple tabs, it means we are creating multiple versions of the ad.
- The differences between variations may include:
- Different copy in the image.
- Different visuals in the image.
- Both.
The In-Platform Copy
At the very top, you will see a box called In-Platform Copy.
- Do NOT put this text inside your image.
- This text acts as the “Caption” or “Primary Text” that appears above or below the ad on Facebook/Instagram.
- You can ignore this section unless you need context for what the ad is about.
The Batch Notes
Look at the bottom right corner of your screen.
- You will see a round floating button.
- If this icon is Yellow, it means there are important notes from the Strategist.
- Click it to read instructions that apply to the entire Batch (Main and all Variations).
The Review Submission Button
You will see a large purple button: Add Main Creative URL.
- What is this? This is how you submit your work for the first review.
- Important: In this stage, you only submit the Main image. Do not edit any of the variations yet.
- Once your Main image is uploaded to our review link (Frame.io/Google Drive/Dropbox, or whichever platform your team uses), paste that link here.
Important
Double check if the links you’re submitting have the right access settings so it can be opened by the person or team you’re sharing it with (critical if you’re sharing Google Drive links).
Workflow Status: Editing
Step 1: Create the “Main” Image
- Open your editing tool.
- Start by working only on the Main variation.
- Edit following the Image Brief.
- If you are given a reference image, use it for structure only. Do not copy the content; only copy the layout/vibe.
Step 2: Submit First Draft
- Once the Main image is edited and ready, upload it to the review drive (Frame.io/Drive/Dropbox or whichever platform your team uses).
- Copy the link.
- Paste it into the purple button: Add Main Creative URL.
- Change the status to
In Review. - Now just wait for feedback from the team.
Workflow Status: In Review
After you submit the Main URL —
- What to do: Wait. Your team is checking the structure of your design.
- If Rejected: You will receive feedback. Fix the Main image and re-submit.
- If Approved: The status changes to Variations Editing.
Workflow Status: Variations Editing
Great job! The Main static is approved.
Now we just need to create the different Variations of the ad.
Step 1: Duplicate
Do not start from scratch.
- Duplicate your approved “Main” image in your editing tool.
- Rename the new file to “Variation 1”.
- Repeat this for as many variations as there are tabs in the brief.
Step 2: Check the Tabs
Go back to the Static Brief page. Look at the tabs at the top left (Variation 1, Variation 2, etc.) and implement the different variations.
Step 3: Export & Organize
Once you have finished all variations:
- Export all image files (PNG is usually preferred).
- Upload them into a single folder on your review platform (Drive/Dropbox/Frame.io).
- Important: Do not send 5 different links. We need one link that leads to the folder containing all the images.
Step 4: Submit Final Link
- Copy the link to the folder.
- Paste it into the purple submission box.
- Click Submit.
